Profile
ZHAW is one of the largest and leading universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. The eight schools of the ZHAW cover a broad range of subjects: Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering, Health Professions, Applied Linguistics, Life Sciences and Facility Management, Applied Psychology, Social Work, Engineering, and Management and Law.
ZHAW’s Institute of Energy Systems and Fluid Engineering (IEFE) is the coordinator of TheGreefa project. The main research areas and groups are focused on Energy efficiency, Renewable energy and Energy storages and networks.
As a result of synergies between the groups, IEFE develops projects from different disciplinary areas including thermodynamic, fluid engineering, process efficiency and automation, producing innovative and efficient solutions. IEFE works in well-equipped laboratories in close cooperation with national and it engages in numerous publicly funded research projects.
Role in the project
In addition to being the project coordinator, ZHAW provides knowhow on absorption/desorption processes based on own developments and data from previous projects regarding cooling and air humidity control applications and energy recovery systems, design and optimization of energy system, simulation, CFD. ZHW provides knowledge on thermodynamic, system integration, simulations.
