Profile

The National Research Institute of Rural Engineering, Water and Forests (INRGREF) is placed under the legal restraint of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing. The Institute principal mission is given to contribute to the development of the National Research Policy in the areas of Water, Forestry and Rural Engineering, and participate in the development of scientific and technological research and its integration into the economic and social fields. Its main activities focus on research to address rural engineering and irrigation water management. INRGREF participated in several projects funded by National/Regional/ Interregional, European and International programs on different topics in relation to agricultural water resources management and operation, water and soil conservation, water-energy-food nexus and forestry Research.

Role in the project
As part of its research program, the institute will collaborate with the Technische Universität Berlin and Watergy GmbH, in the framework of TheGreefa project, to organize the construction of a new research greenhouse prototype based on the system design provided by the collaborators.
