Profile
Watergy is a private limited German company. It is a spin-off from Technische Universität Berlin, founded in 2010, with a strong engineering and research focus. Watergy has developed crucial technologies relevant to the use of liquid desiccants for building heat and cool supply including functions as humidity control and heat recovery. Their expertise also includes climate control in urban greenhouses. Watergy holds a patent for an evaporative cooling and humidity absorption system for use with a combined heat and cold thermal accumulator. Recent research has resulted in further patent applications, related to absorber technology and energy transport. Watergy staff members have long experience in EU funded projects (project coordination and active partner). Watergy is one of very few actors in the development of open desiccant applications in Europe based on thermochemical fluids.
Role in the project
The company provides technical experience and production facilities for the development of experimental prototypes. Main emphasis is on climate control technology for buildings, greenhouses, and drying applications
